- 2 tablespoons finely ground oats
- 1 tablespoon soft brown sugar
- 1 tablespoon sunflower oil or jojoba oil
- 1 teaspoon aloe vera gel
- Optional: 1/2 teaspoon honey if tolerated
- A splash of warm water only if needed
Best for
Rough-feeling elbows, knees, arms or legs that need a soft polish, not an aggressive scrub. Do not use on the face, broken skin, irritated skin, sunburn or immediately after shaving.
How to make it
- Mix finely ground oats and brown sugar in a small bowl.
- Stir in oil and aloe until the texture is damp and spoonable.
- Add only a few drops of warm water if it feels too dry.
- Massage over wet body skin with very light pressure for 30–60 seconds.
- Rinse well, pat dry and apply body lotion.
Why these ingredients
Oats soften the feel of the polish, brown sugar gives a mild body-only texture, and oil helps the scrub glide so you are not dragging the skin. Aloe adds slip and makes the mixture easier to rinse.
Frequency and safety
- Use no more than once weekly.
- Patch test first.
- Keep away from the face and bikini area.
- Be careful in the shower because oils can make surfaces slippery.
- Discard leftovers immediately.
